On December 23, 2017, 43-year-old Tepe Dewayne Edwards was shot around 7 p.m. in Birmingham's Norwood neighborhood. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on December 25, 2017.
Following the incident, Birmingham Police arrested Tommy Woods in connection with Edwards' death. Woods was charged and held in the Jefferson County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
