In the early morning hours of January 7, 2016, 27-year-old Keldrick Talley was driving through the Ridgecrest neighborhood in Montgomery, Alabama, after finishing his overnight shift at a local manufacturing plant. He was in the process of giving a co-worker a ride home, a routine act of kindness that would tragically be his last. As he drove, shots were fired into his vehicle, with one bullet striking him and ultimately ending his life.
His death marked the first homicide of the year in Montgomery.
Family members of Talley believe the shooting was the result of a robbery attempt that went tragically wrong. They described him as a hardworking man who was dedicated to providing for his young daughter. Friends and family remember him as a laid-back and funny individual who was always looking to motivate those around him to be better. His sudden and violent death left his loved ones devastated and searching for answers.
Despite the initial investigation by the Montgomery Police Department, no arrests have ever been made in connection with Keldrick Talley's murder.
