On a cold Saturday night in Montgomery, Alabama, the life of 41-year-old Marion Woodward, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On February 26, 2022, Woodward was found by police with a fatal gunshot wound. The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m. in the 3800 block of Norman Bridge Road. First responders transported him to a local hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the shooting quickly pointed to a suspect.
Within a couple of days, Montgomery police arrested 22-year-old LeMarcus Ramsey in connection with Woodward's death. Ramsey was taken into custody by the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force. The motive for the shooting was reported to be an argument that escalated into deadly violence.
Following his arrest, LeMarcus Ramsey was charged with capital murder. He was subsequently booked into the Montgomery County Detention Facility. At the time of his arrest, Ramsey was being held without bond, awaiting further legal proceedings. The case is expected to proceed through the court system, with a trial to determine the outcome of the charges against him.
