On a late summer day, the life of Jacob 'Jake' Presley Ford, a 38-year-old Caucasian male, was tragically cut short. On August 30, 2023, in Montgomery, Alabama, Ford was fatally shot at the Tin Top RV Park. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office responded to the incident and promptly began a homicide investigation into the violent death of the Elmore resident.
The investigation quickly led authorities to a suspect, Brandon Kelley.
For a period, Kelley remained at large, with security cameras occasionally capturing his presence in Montgomery and Elmore County. His evasion prompted a high alert among area police departments, with multiple agencies joining the search. The manhunt for Kelley concluded with his capture, though the specific details of how he was taken into custody were not immediately released.
Following his arrest, Brandon Kelley faced a series of serious charges related to the death of Jacob Ford and other alleged crimes. The charges brought against him by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office included Murder, Breaking and Entering of a vehicle, Burglary 1st, and three counts of Robbery 1st. Jacob Ford, who had worked for the State of Alabama Department of Finance as the head of maintenance for 16 years, was remembered at a Celebration of Life service on September 6, 2023. He is survived by his parents, two sons, and a brother.
