In the early morning hours of May 8, 2025, the life of 27-year-old Da'Quan Mar'keith-Malik Blakely was tragically cut short in Montgomery, Alabama. Authorities were called to the 5700 block of Atlanta Highway around 5 a.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered Blakely, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the death of the man, affectionately known as 'Quan,' 'Q,' or 'KeKe' to his loved ones, revealed
that the incident was connected to a robbery. Remembered as a joyful and kind-hearted individual with a contagious smile, Blakely was a skilled carpenter who was considered a builder of not just homes, but also of cherished memories and loving relationships with his family and friends.
In connection with the robbery and homicide, law enforcement officials later arrested a 15-year-old male. The juvenile, whose identity has not been publicly released, was subsequently charged with capital murder. The investigation is reportedly ongoing.
