On December 3, 2023, at approximately 2:30 a.m., Montgomery police responded to a shooting in the 1100 block of Lake Street. Upon arrival, officers and fire medics discovered 38-year-old Brandon Steele of Montgomery suffering from a gunshot wound. Steele was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on December 11, 2023.
