In the summer of 2025, the life of 15-year-old Brantley McNabb was tragically cut short in Montgomery, Alabama. On the afternoon of Thursday, July 10th, police and fire medics were dispatched to the 1100 block of Air Base Boulevard after receiving a report of a gunshot victim. Upon their arrival, they discovered the young male, Brantley McNabb, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death marked the beginning of a violent stretch in the city, with two other homicides occurring in the following days.
The investigation into McNabb's death led to the arrest of a juvenile male. Montgomery police later confirmed that the unidentified minor was charged with two counts of capital murder in connection with the fatal shooting of McNabb. Due to his status as a minor, the suspect's age and identity have been withheld from the public. Authorities believe the juvenile suspect was responsible for shooting and killing the 15-year-old on Airbase Boulevard. The circumstances that led to the shooting and a possible motive have not been released by law enforcement officials.
The community mourned the loss of the teenager, and funeral services were held for Brantley McNabb on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the New Home Baptist Church in Mt. Meigs, Alabama. He was later buried at Woodley Memorial Cemetery. Friends and family remembered him as a beloved cousin and a part of the extended Dannelly Elementary family.
