Shelby McGhee, a 40-year-old man from Montgomery, Alabama, was shot and killed on July 23, 2022, in what authorities later described as a fatal altercation. McGhee's death occurred in the early morning hours in a residential area, where he was found suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders shortly after the incident.
