On a tragic Halloween evening in 2021, a life was cut short in Montgomery, Alabama. Quenton Trashawn Reese, a 35-year-old Black male, was fatally shot on October 31, 2021. The incident unfolded around 7 p.m. in the 4300 block of Norman Bridge Road. First responders arrived at the scene to find Reese with a life-threatening gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital for emergency medical attention.
Despite the efforts of medical professionals, Reese succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The initial investigation by the Montgomery Police Department swiftly moved from a shooting investigation to a homicide case. Friends and family remembered Reese as a loving individual who brought joy to those who knew him. His funeral service was held on November 13, 2021, at True Divine Baptist Church, followed by his interment at Forest Hills Memorial Park.
In the wake of the shooting, investigators identified a suspect, 42-year-old Armster Maull. In a turn of events, Maull was found to have sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He received medical treatment for his injuries before being taken into custody by law enforcement. Following his release from the hospital, Armster Maull was formally charged with the murder of Quenton Trashawn Reese. He was then incarcerated at the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
