In the quiet predawn hours of Monday, June 2, 2025, a burst of violence shattered the calm in Montgomery, Alabama, leaving a family and community to grapple with a sudden loss. It was around 12:30 a.m. when police and emergency medical services were dispatched to the corner of E. Sixth Street and Teague Street, where they found the body of Trent Harris. A 45-year-old Black male from Montgomery, Harris had been shot and was pronounced dead at the scene.
