On February 6, 2016, in Irondale, Alabama, a tragic accident occurred when 9-year-old Kimi Reylander was fatally shot by her 3-year-old brother. The siblings were visiting their great-grandparents' home and playing in a bedroom when the young boy discovered a loaded pistol on a nightstand. Unaware of the danger, he picked up the firearm and accidentally discharged it, striking Kimi in the head.
