On June 18, 2016, 28-year-old Horacio Cooks was found deceased from multiple gunshot wounds in Birmingham's Woodlawn neighborhood. His body was discovered around 4:00 PM near the corner of 61st Street North and 1st Court North, lying on the grass outside an abandoned house.
