In the late hours of a September weekend in Selma, Alabama, the life of 33-year-old Lamont Gucci Chapman was tragically cut short. On Saturday, September 17, 2016, Chapman was fatally wounded in a shooting that contributed to what was described as a violent weekend in the city. The incident was part of a series of three separate shootings that occurred, leaving two other individuals injured and culminating in Chapman's death.
