Melvin W. Perry, a 40-year-old Black man from Selma, Alabama, was found deceased on October 1, 2017. His body was discovered inside his vehicle on a rural road in Autauga County, the victim of a fatal shooting. The discovery initiated a homicide investigation led by the Autauga County Sheriff's Office.

Within a couple of weeks, investigators made three arrests in connection with Perry's death. The suspects were identified as Martavious Moore, Jermarius Ty’rese Powell, and Malik D’shau ...
