In the late hours of a November evening in Selma, Alabama, the life of Marcus Dewayne Hatcher, a 38-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short. On November 27, 2021, in the 100 block of Lapsley Street, Hatcher was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency responders arrived at the scene, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
