On the evening of February 18, 2023, the Selma Police Department responded to reports of gunfire around 10:01 PM in the 1400 block of Lauderdale Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 60-year-old Aaron Clines lying in front of 1411 Lauderdale Street, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Paramedics were summoned to the scene, but Mr. Clines was pronounced dead by Dallas County Coroner Alan Dailey.
