In the early morning hours of a Saturday in Selma, Alabama, violence erupted inside a local nightclub, leaving a family and community in mourning. Tyrron Javill Stallworth, a 38-year-old male, was caught in the tragic events that unfolded on March 4, 2023. When police officers responded to the scene, they discovered Mr. Stallworth on the floor with a gunshot wound. He was swiftly transported to the Vaughan Regional Medical Center's emergency department for care.
Despite the efforts to save him, he ultimately succumbed to his injury and passed away on March 5, 2023.
The shooting did not just claim one victim. The owner of the nightclub, Trent Woods, was also found on the floor suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Woods was initially taken to the same local hospital as Stallworth but was later airlifted to UAB Medical Center for further treatment of his injuries. The Selma Police Department began an investigation into the deadly shootout, appealing to the public for any information that could help them piece together the events of that fatal morning.
In a surprising turn in the investigation, an arrest was made that brought the case even closer to home for the victim's family. Selma police took Jarron Stallworth, the brother of Tyrron Stallworth, into custody in connection with the nightclub shooting. Following his arrest, Jarron Stallworth was charged with two counts of attempted murder, assault, and shooting into an occupied building. The case remains under investigation by the Selma Police Department.
