In a tragic turn of events on a Saturday in Selma, Alabama, 17-year-old Amari Bonner, a student at Selma High School, lost his life. Bonner was a passenger in a vehicle from which another occupant reportedly opened fire on a pedestrian. The pedestrian, a 16-year-old, returned fire, and a bullet struck Bonner. He was rushed to a local hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
