On May 11, 2017, 37-year-old Alicostro Moore was fatally shot at the Selma Square Apartments, located on the 1200 block of Woodrow Avenue in Selma, Alabama. The incident occurred late Thursday night, marking the city's fourth homicide of the year. According to Captain Johnny King of the Selma Police Department, several men arrived at the apartment complex and opened fire, resulting in Moore's death.
