On March 30, 2016, 18-year-old Cedric Deon Williams was fatally shot outside his residence on the 2500 block of Etheridge Avenue in Selma, Alabama. The incident occurred shortly after 1:30 a.m. while Williams was accompanied by two to three family members and friends, none of whom were injured during the shooting. Williams, a senior at Selma High School, was approximately 45 days away from graduation at the time of his death.
