In the fall of 2016, the life of 17-year-old Jacob Houston Thomas, a white male, was tragically cut short in Mobile, Alabama. On the evening of October 23, Thomas was at a gas station when he was fatally shot. The incident was part of a concerning string of homicides in the city that year. A resident of Wilmer, Alabama, the young man's sudden death left his family and community in shock and mourning.
