On January 1, 2018, Gerald Jackson III, a 22-year-old resident of Long Beach, California, was tragically shot and killed. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of 6th Street and Temple Avenue. Officers from the Long Beach Police Department responded to a call regarding a possible assault with a deadly weapon.
