In the early morning hours of November 5, 2016, a domestic disturbance call led Escambia County Sheriff's deputies to a home on Adabell Road in the Booneville community, just north of Atmore, Alabama. There, they discovered the body of 46-year-old Eric Leon Rolin, a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. He had sustained a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
