In the early morning hours of November 5, 2016, a domestic disturbance call led Escambia County Sheriff's deputies to a home on Adabell Road in the Booneville community, just north of Atmore, Alabama. There, they discovered the body of 46-year-old Eric Leon Rolin, a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians. He had sustained a single gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the death of the male victim quickly focused on his wife, 47-year-old Kimberly
Hardy Rolin. According to authorities, the couple had a history of domestic violence, and an argument had preceded the fatal shooting. Kimberly Rolin was taken into custody and subsequently charged with one count of murder.
