On December 8, 2024, at approximately 8:15 p.m., Atmore Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at a vacant residence in the 100 block of East Ashley Street. Upon arrival, they discovered two individuals, 27-year-old Joe Jones Jr. and 25-year-old Juwan McNeal, seated in a vehicle riddled with bullet holes. Both men had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the scene.
