On the evening of October 1, 2017, 28-year-old Jadrakus Antony Morris was fatally shot in Bessemer, Alabama. The incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. in the 2400 block of Berkley Avenue near 24th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered Morris and a female victim, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Morris, who had been shot in the chest, was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:06 p.m. The female victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
