On June 4, 2019, at approximately 8:10 p.m., 23-year-old Devin Skyler Sandlin was fatally shot in the front yard of a residence on the 1700 block of Long 14th Street in Bessemer, Alabama. Upon arrival, Bessemer Police officers found Sandlin suffering from a gunshot wound; he was transported to UAB Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter.
