On November 16, 2017, 17-year-old Pervis Andre Polk Jr. was fatally shot in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred in the Woodlawn neighborhood, specifically at the intersection of 9th Avenue North and 51st Street North. Responding officers discovered Polk lying next to a car riddled with bullet holes, alongside 51-year-old Jocklyn Manley, who was also deceased. Both victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
