Breunia Lakis Jennings, a 23-year-old female, died on Sunday, March 25, 2018, in Dothan, Alabama. On that night, around 10:50 p.m., police officers who were in the area investigating a suspicious vehicle found a wrecked car at the intersection of Lake Street and Allen Road. Inside, they discovered Ms. Jennings, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an investigation into the circumstances of her death, two men from Dothan were arrested and
charged with capital murder. The suspects were identified as 26-year-old Jamie Emmanuel Townes and 52-year-old Kenneth Glasgow. Authorities believe the motive stemmed from Townes's anger over the belief that Jennings had stolen his car. It is alleged that instead of alerting the police, Townes, accompanied by Glasgow, decided to pursue Jennings. Police officials stated that Glasgow was driving the vehicle from which Townes fired multiple rounds at the car Jennings was operating, resulting in a gunshot wound to her head. Both men were taken into custody and held on a 'no bond' status.
