On April 1, 2018, 37-year-old Derrick Mason was fatally shot during an argument in Birmingham, Alabama. The incident occurred in the Gate City community, where officers found Mason suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on 64th Court Way South. Despite prompt medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
