Death by Force

On January 4, 2008, Evangelist Caffery D. Woods, aged 49, was fatally shot while seated in her SUV behind a duplex on the 7400 block of 2nd Avenue South in Birmingham, Alabama. Her mother, 88-year-old Mattie Mae Woods, was also shot multiple times during the incident but survived the attack. The assailant approached their vehicle around 7:30 p.m., opening fire before fleeing the scene.
