On June 28, 2020, 27-year-old De'Vareya Rashad Powell was reported missing in Mobile, Alabama. The following day, his body was discovered in a wooded area along Shelton Beach Road. Investigations revealed that Powell had been fatally shot at Summer Place Apartments on Azalea Road, after which his body was moved to the location where it was found.
