On January 11, 2021, at approximately 7:50 p.m., Bessemer Police responded to a shooting incident in the 2800 block of 12th Avenue North. Upon arrival, officers discovered 67-year-old Zachery B. Brown Jr. suffering from a gunshot wound inside his vehicle. He was transported to UAB Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
