In the quiet community of Brighton, Alabama, just outside of Bessemer, 68-year-old Sylvester Allen, a Black male, was tragically killed on December 26, 2018. The day after Christmas began like any other, but a neighbor would later recall hearing about four gunshots in the morning, a chilling premonition of the violence that had shattered the neighborhood's peace.
