On April 18, 2021, 21-year-old Deterrious Kieth-Bernerd Steele was fatally shot at Enoch Brown Park in Bessemer, Alabama. The incident occurred around 7:45 p.m., and Steele was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before 10 p.m. The Bessemer Police Department initiated a homicide investigation following the shooting.
