On March 30, 2020, 12-year-old Sean Rose was fatally shot in the head while at his home in Bessemer, Alabama. The incident occurred around 1:07 p.m. when Sean and his 16-year-old brother were handling a firearm that discharged, striking Sean. He was transported to Children's of Alabama hospital, where he was pronounced dead later that afternoon.
