On December 25, 2022, 41-year-old Clay Austin Parker was found deceased from stab wounds in the 1700 block of 6th Avenue North in Bessemer, Alabama. The incident occurred at the ARC of Bessemer, Inc., a halfway house where both Parker and the suspect resided. Police responded to the scene shortly before 7:00 p.m. and discovered Parker's body.
