In the early afternoon of a Thursday in Bessemer, Alabama, the life of a young man was tragically cut short. Carlos DeWanye Wells, Jr., a 21-year-old male, was in the 2100 block of Berkley Avenue on March 4, 2021, when he was fatally wounded by gunfire. The shooting, which took place around noon, left the community searching for answers.
