On November 20, 2017, Ricky James McKeithan, a 52-year-old white male from Bessemer, Alabama, was fatally shot in the 1000 block of 12th Street North. Responding to reports of a shooting around 2:30 p.m., authorities found McKeithan, who had been shot multiple times, including twice in the chest.
