On June 8, 2024, 39-year-old Deandre Roney was fatally stabbed at the William E. Donaldson Correctional Facility in Bessemer, Alabama. Serving a sentence for robbery and attempted murder from a 2008 conviction, Roney was nearing his scheduled release date in November 2024.
