Trenton Way was killed during a robbery of the Kangaroo gas station he worked at. 27-year-old Trenton James Way was known as being friendly and kind-hearted. Trenton's grandmother said she'd only ever had trouble with him once, when he was 6 years old and told a fib, and after he got in trouble, she never had any more trouble with him. He worked at as a clerk at the Kangaroo Express and for the Event Operation Group in Birmingham, where he was assigned to ESPN, UA Gameday Operations, Talladega Superspeedway, and the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex.
