In the late hours of an April evening in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, a young man's life was cut short in a burst of violence. Nineteen-year-old Omar Childers, a male resident of the city, was discovered deceased in his vehicle just after 11 p.m. on April 15, 2021, at the Springhill apartment complex. Officers responding to the scene found that he had been struck by gunfire, and the investigation was immediately classified as a homicide.
