On September 19, 2017, 37-year-old Bobby Lee Herrod Jr. was fatally shot at the Winston Mart, located at 2503 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Upon arrival, police found Herrod suffering from multiple gunshot wounds; he was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
