In June 2019, 1-year-old Omari Jones-Pearce tragically lost his life in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The child was under the care of his mother's boyfriend, 27-year-old Christopher Cornelius Pearson, at the time of the incident. Pearson initially reported that Omari had drowned after being left unattended in a bathtub. However, preliminary autopsy results contradicted this account, revealing no evidence of drowning but indicating significant trauma to the child's body.
