Omari Jones-Pearce, a 1-year-old Black male from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, died on June 14, 2019, after what first sounded like a drowning call at Creekwood Village Apartments on 40th Avenue. First responders were sent to the apartment around 7 a.m. after reports that a baby had been found in a bathtub. He was discovered unresponsive, taken to a local hospital, and pronounced dead there.
