In the late hours of a Saturday in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the life of Joseph Baskins, a 36-year-old man, was cut short by gunfire. On September 24, 2022, at the River Road Apartments, a call reporting a shooting brought officers to a scene where they would find Baskins, who had been fatally wounded and was pronounced dead.
