On a Saturday night in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the life of a young Black man, Charlie Lee Thomas, was tragically cut short. On April 9, 2022, the 29-year-old was in the 3500 block of 21st Street in the city's West End when gunfire erupted at approximately 10 p.m. When officers from the Tuscaloosa Police Department arrived at the scene, they found a chaotic situation with three people having been shot.
