In the summer of 2021, a young mother's life was tragically cut short in Birmingham, Alabama, leaving a family and community in mourning. Briona Leshay Groom, a 27-year-old female, was the victim of a shooting that occurred on June 4, 2021. For weeks, she fought for her life, a testament to her strength and will to live. However, after 52 days of struggle, she succumbed to her injuries on July 25, 2021.
