On October 23, 2023, in Birmingham, Alabama, 37-year-old April Marie Britton was fatally shot in a tragic incident of domestic violence. The shooting occurred around noon in the backyard of a residence on Huffman Road, where Britton was allegedly shot by her boyfriend, 48-year-old Emell O. Peavy, in the presence of her children.
