In the summer of 2021, the life of 26-year-old Taquon Derrell Fikes, a Black male from Selma, Alabama, was tragically cut short. On the evening of June 9th, Fikes was discovered near his home with multiple gunshot wounds. The quiet neighborhood was shattered by the violence that had unfolded, leaving a community in shock and mourning.
