On July 4, 2021, at approximately 5:30 a.m., 33-year-old Isiah Simmons Jr. was fatally shot on the 1800 block of Bienville Street in Selma, Alabama. The incident stemmed from a dispute between Simmons and 42-year-old Demetrius Leashore, reportedly over Simmons' wife.
