In the late summer of 2021, the life of Charley Perez-Dior Terrell, a 26-year-old male, was abruptly and violently cut short. On a tragic Saturday, September 4th, in Gadsden, Alabama, Terrell became a victim of a brutal home invasion. During the course of this violent act, both Charley and another individual, Allison Danielle Harris, who was also 26, were fatally shot.
The Etowah County Coroner's Office later confirmed the identities of both victims, casting a dark shadow over the community.
Charley, who was born on October 18, 1994, was a graduate of Gadsden City High School. He was a father to his daughter, Marianna Terrell. His life was filled with youthful passions that included playing basketball, football, and his PlayStation. He especially cherished the time he spent playing with his daughter, niece, and nephew, as well as enjoying the video game 'Fortnite' with his father and sister. His friends and family remember him as someone who also found joy in being on the water and riding boats.
In the aftermath of the double homicide, the community was left in mourning for the two young lives that had been so senselessly extinguished. As of the available reports, no arrests have been announced in connection with the killings, leaving a painful void and unanswered questions for the families and friends of both Charley Terrell and Allison Harris. Funeral services for Charley were held on Saturday, September 11, 2021, where loved ones gathered for a graveside service to bid their final farewell.
